2024 Poetry Shortlist: Daybreak and Deep

“Daybreak and Deep” is an invitation for us to wake up to life in spite of all its misfortunes, to lift ourselves up when we are paralyzed by grief, to alchemize sorrow into gratitude. The poems found within this collection are entwined with a deep understanding of our connectedness to the natural world. These are poems of linguistic grace, brave witnesses to love and loss-prayers to store as keepsakes in the marrow of our bones.
