Rebecca Lehmann is a poet and novelist. Her books include the poetry collections The Sweating Sickness, Ringer, winner of the 2018 Donald Hall Prize for Poetry, and Between the Crackups. Her debut novel, The Beheading Game, was a New York Times Best Books of Spring 2026 selection. Her writing has been featured in Entertainment Weekly, The American Poetry Review, NPR’s The Slowdown, the New York Public Library’s Poem-in-Your-Pocket program, the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day, and other venues.

She has an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Maytag Fellow, and a PhD in creative writing from Florida State University.

She lives in Indiana with her family, where she is an associate professor of English and Gender and Women’s Studies at Saint Mary’s College.
