Writing Workshop Program

Looking to develop your own literary skills? We curated a list of writing workshops by Hoosier authors. These interactive workshops engage a variety of audiences and cover several genres. Nonprofits interested in bringing an Indiana writer to their community to provide a one-time writing workshop for a public audience can apply for funds to cover the writer’s fee as part of the Indiana Authors Awards Writing Workshop Program.

Each year, Indiana Humanities will select up to 10 host organizations and match them to their preferred authors through an application process. Application guidelines, workshop descriptions, and an event toolkit are available below. Participating organizations are responsible for working with authors to schedule engagements and cover any travel expenses.

Applications for the 2026 round of programs are now closed.

Please contact Bronwen Carlisle at bcarlisle@indianahumanities.org with any questions.
